Best of 2007

It is the time of year for best of lists.
Not to be left out, here are my favorite albums of 2007:

#1: The National – Boxer (this was my personal soundtrack for 2007)

Runners Up:
Arcade Fire – Neon Bible
Radiohead – In Rainbows
Peter Bjorn & John – Writer’s Block
Okkervil River – The Stage Names
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Some Loud Thunder
The Shins – Wincing the Night Away
Bjork - Volta
M.I.A. - Kala
Broken Social Scene – Spirit If…
Thurston Moore – Trees Outside the Academy
LCD Soundsystem – Sound of Silver
Jens Lekman – Night Falls over Kortedala
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
Eddie Vedder - Into the Wild
(as hard as I tried, I couldn't trim the list down to just 10)

And my top 10 films of 2007 are:

No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
Juno
The Darjeeling Limited
Into the Wild
Kind of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
Grindhouse
Knocked Up / Superbad
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
The Wire / The Sopranos (technically this is TV, but these shows are much better than most movies coming out of Hollywood these days!)

What are your favorites of 2007?

The music list pretty much matches what I listened to and loved this year too. The Jens Lekman and Panda Bear are still on my wish list (hint hint :) Add Kanye West, Beirut, Burial and Manu Chao.
As far as movies go, I've only seen No country- absolutely loved it! and Superbad- heelarious!
Maybe we can catch a movie when I drop into Seattle next month ??

Good list. I am pleased with all those films. Man how big of a jerk was that american flag tie guy in King of Kong.
